meal trains and frozen meals

Mom has been telling me to stock up on ready to go frozen meals at least a week before my due date. That way, we don't have to worry about feeding ourselves when we get back from the hospital. We'll just defrost the frozen meal, add vegetables, cook rice (or pasta if it's not included in the dish yet) and we're good. Kasi we don't have any household help yet, so this will help us a lot.

I have already compiled a list of freezer friendly meals like spaghetti, nilaga, etc. however, I haven't gotten around the cooking part yet. Tinatamad talaga ako. It would be nicer if someone would offer to set up a meal train for us, kahit sa first week lang. *wishwish*

I read about it a few days ago. It's this process of organizing meal giving by matching the special meal needs and requests of the recipient with the availability and abilities of meal givers. Visit this site for more info.

38 weeks: Ob appointment update

pregnancy weight: 55 kg
stats: still 3.5 cm dilated
belly measurement: 36 cm

Dr Grace felt around my tummy and it seems nothing is happening soon. I'm beginning to think baby Gabo is very content to keep his head right in my pelvis and stay there a few more weeks.wag naman sana.

At 38 weeks, needless to say... I'm having a horrible time. Sleep is the worst now, i can't stay long on just one side because of all the baby weight so i have to turn to the other side. but turning is a whole different chore too. Walking and sitting are also becoming unbearable. There is this constant pressure in between my legs that makes me feel like Baby Gabo's coming out any minute now. *super unlike!*

touching birthing video

i've been watching a lot of birthing videos, but this one made me cry. probably because she was surrounded by people who loves her while giving birth. i couldn't stop feeling pity for myself. i'll be all alone when the big day comes, my mom and dad is in the middle east and can't come even if they want to and my sister's away in med school. J's whole family is in NYC. so it's just J and me. *boohoo* it would've nice to be surrounded by family.

38 weeks: Ob appointment

Pregnancy weight: 55 kg
Baby Position: Head down
Stats: 3.5 cm
Bump measurement: 35 cm

So 38 week OB appointment today. I gained no weight, however baby Gabo grew a few centimeters again (35cm already!). My due date is on September 2 but I do not want baby Gabo to stay in me that long. He's really growing...FAST! even with all the diet I'm doing. Aside from the growing bump, doctor grace said everything's fantastic and it would be better if I give birth this week. Our next appointment is on Thursday. I', seriously hoping this week is THE week already!

37 weeks: OB appointment

pregnancy weight: 54 kgs
baby position: still head down
stats: still 2.5 cm dilated
belly measurement: 34 cm
ECG result: normal

there hasn't been much going on with the baby. nothing new or exciting except maybe that baby Gabo is still growing (but that's not new). Dr. Grace recommended walking to induce labor. but it's hard to take long walks now with my penguin steps. but I'll try. she told me that by Thursday next week i can give birth already! I'm excited as well as scared that it's coming to an end in a few days!

organizing for baby

we still don't have a nursery yet, so all of baby gabo's gifts were simply dumped in our bedroom. after the baby shower, it has grown to quite a pile.

I know I have to do something about the pile before the baby comes out. ASAP!so i just placed his clothes (onesies, shirts, etc), diapers, bibs, washcloths, towels, etc in this white storage case my mom got from IKEA and the rest (wipes, nasal aspirator, breast pump, milk dispenser, etc.) i placed on the baby wash tub.

I also packed most of the stuff we need for the hospital, a bag for baby gabo and another for me and J. I'll probably pack another bag for food, drinks, etc.

wanted: nanny/household help

I'm giving birth a few months from now. we have to hire someone we can trust to help me around the house and take care of the baby while J's away for work. The duties are rather simple: she'll just sweep the floors, cook food [if she knows how], do laundry and basically just accompany me to wherever. it's so hard to find one here in Cebu since we're rather new here. *sigh* I wish we can find one really soon.

36 weeks: OB appointment

Pregnancy Weight: 54 kg
Baby Position: Head down
Stats: 2.5cm dilated
Belly Measurement:32 cm
Stretch marks: a lot! *boo* I now have some on my boobs too

So, we have started our weekly OB visitation schedule. There was some blood when Dr. Grace did the internal exam but she said not to worry about it. It should stop after a day or two. She also wanted me to have an ECG.

our baby's development according to babycenter.com.ph:
Your baby is still gaining weight - about an ounce/ 28 grams a day. She weighs nearly 6 pounds/ 2.7 kilograms and is 19 inches/ 45 centimeters long from head to toe.

You may begin to feel an increased pressure in your lower abdomen and notice that your baby is gradually dropping. This is called lighteningor engagement, and your lungs and stomach will finally get a chance to stretch out a little - breathing and eating should become easier. However, walking may become increasingly uncomfortable - some women say it feels as if the baby is going to fall out. Also, you may still feel as if you need to go to the toilet all the time.
