So, I had my glucose test today at the CUPSI Lab. I braced myself for the worst after hearing and reading the horror stories about how awful the drink tastes. It's actually not that bad at all. It actually tastes like
Royal - that orange soft drink. I felt dizzy afterwards though, since it's the only thing I took since last night. We had to wait for another hour before they could take my blood sample and I was still not allowed to drink and eat anything. We got the result two hours later.

FBS and OGCT Result:
No gestational diabetes for me! Hooray!
That dark vertical line you see is my
Linea Nigra, which is a pregnancy trademark that shows up to almost all moms-to-be.
Linea nigra normally starts appearing during the 2nd trimester, and may last for several months after your baby is born. For some women the line will never completely go away. some doctors believe that there may be a connection between a woman's insulin level and her getting linea nigra, or even not getting enough folic acid.
Linea nigra has a myth associated with it as well. It is an old wives tale that if the linea nigra stops at the belly button, the woman is having a girl, and if it goes all the way to the bottom of the rib cage then the woman is having a boy. (My line stops just a few inches above my belly button, so baby boy talaga!)
So I'm 29 weeks and 3 days today. Me and J had our monthly OB appointment. The baby's ok, however, he's too large. Dr Grace wants me to have an OGCT and FBS test to check if i have gestational diabetes. Just hearing the word diabetes makes me really worry. I have to cut out my carbs in take and exercise often. So goodbye
muna to ice cream and choco balls.
our baby's progress according to
babycenter.com.ph:
Your baby now weighs around 2.5 pounds/ 1.1 kilograms and measures about 15 inches/ 38 centimeters from head to toe. In boys, testicles descend from near the kidneys through the groin en route to the scrotum. In girls, the clitoris is relatively prominent because it's not yet covered by the still-small labia. These will grow to cover it in the last few weeks before birth.
Your baby's head is getting bigger, and brain growth is very rapid at this time. Nearly all babies react to sound by 30 weeks.
Yes, my stretch marks. Marks I've always thought I won't have since I've been diligently applying lotion and moisturizers on my belly from day one. They were just underneath my belly all this time that's why I couldn't see them. Great!
NONE of my clothes fit anymore or at least they couldn't cover my belly. This is ridiculous. Maternity clothes are too expensive. I've been getting by with large shirts mostly J's house shirts. Now those are starting to get tight too. I don't want to splurge on new clothes since I'll be using them only once. What to do?
